Usain Bolt has 'touch like a trampoline' says A-League star

Usain Bolt has a touch "like a trampoline" and a proposed professional football contract is "farcical", according to Perth Glory forward Andy Keogh.

The former sprinter has been offered a "contract proposal" by Central Coast Mariners, but the club added that a "financial contribution from an external third party" would be required to meet Bolt's demands.

Keogh accepts Bolt's star power is "good for publicity" as the A-League continues to grow, but questioned the fastest man in the world's intentions.

Asked by OffTheBall what Bolt's first touch is like, Koegh replied: "From what I've seen, like a trampoline."

He said: "It's nice to have the attention on the A-League but him playing in the A-League, that's not for me. He's 31. For me, he's not going to be able to make it [as a footballer].

"He's shown a bit [of potential] but it's a little bit of a kick in the teeth to the professionals that are in the league.

"It's fine from a marketing point of view but from a football perspective, it's a little bit farcical."

Keogh added: "He says he is chasing his dream of being a professional footballer, yet he has come out with quotes saying he wants 'x' amount.

"If you are chasing the dream, it is not about the money. He has contradicted himself massively there."
