Usain Bolt denies he’s a party animal and insists he’s a ‘great role model’ - EXCLUSIVE

Usain Bolt may have a reputation for raving but the sports star says it’s more important for him to be a ‘role model’ and that he is ‘misunderstood’.

The 30-year-old sprinter recently celebrated the release of his documentary ‘I am Bolt’ by partying up a storm with the likes of Justin Bieber at celeb hotspot Tape Nightclub on Monday night.

Speaking to Yahoo! Celeb at the I Am Bolt world premiere in London, Usain said his critics like to slam his party boy lifestyle but that they have no idea who he really is.

He said: “I know I’m a great person and a great role model I want to prove to people that it’s not easy.

“People say that I’m acting and that I’m not really that jovial or fun but I want them to see in my life I am relaxed but I work hard and I am dedicated to what I do.”

As well as his social life coming under scrutiny, his love life has also been making headlines for the wrong reasons.

The nine-time Olympic gold medal champion was on the brink of losing his girlfriend Kasi Bennett earlier this year after he was snapped cuddled up to the widow of a Brazilian drug baron.

However, Usain revealed the pair are very much together and kids may even be on the cards for them once he retires from sprinting.

But the Jamaican athlete might want to mind his manners a bit more if his next goal is to be achieved – a knighthood no less.

Usain is keen to meet the Queen and be awarded for services to sport.

He said: “I’ve said that will be cool and that Sir Usain Bolt has a ring to it.”

And what about potential mini Bolts in the future?

Usain, who won 100m, 200m and 4 x 100 m relay at three consecutive Olympic Games said: I travel and work so much having a child wouldn’t make sense but at the right time I’ll have a family.

“I would want my children to do some form of sports not only for their career but sports in general.

“I really think sports plays an important part in developing you and makes you dedicated and makes you work hard.”

Agreed!
