Using GIFs On Tinder Increases Your Success Rate By 30%
Everyone loves animated GIFs - and it seems that using little animations will even help you find love in this strange modern era.
On Tinder, at least, using GIF animations (or other emoji) seems to be worth a thousand words - using them means the object of your desire is 30% more likely to respond.
Using GIFs and emoji to ‘break the ice’ seems to be quite common, according to figures released by Tinder this week.
Around 20% of first messages sent on the servicce include a GIF or an emoji - and conversations which include them tend to last twice as long.
Tinder integrated a GIF button - based on the searchable Giphy library - earlier this year, and so far, users have sent more than 100 million GIFs.
‘GIFs allow people to better say what they want to and express emotion, which is something that’s really difficult to do in text alone,” Tinder’s Jonathan Badeen told Buzzfeed.
‘It opens up people to start more conversations and to break the ice.’
