Valley Fest is preparing to celebrate its 10th birthday in August. And as the countdown begins, it's unveiled a huge line-up of acts for the Thursday of the festival.

Taking place alongside the Chew Valley Lake between August 1-4, the birthday celebrations are set to be 'getting bigger' as more acts and areas are added. This year sees local organisations Save Our Scene and BillyChip Live taking over part of the festival's programme, with support from PlayHuman. The likes of Don Letts, Badger, Jaguar Skills and Oko will be playing on Arcadia's Afterburner on the Thursday.

While elsewhere, music label 'Back To Mine' (launched in 1999) will also be creating a new venue for 2024, featuring DJs such as Dave Lee, DJ Paulette, Lottie, Black Hawks of Panama, and Mas Que Nada Bros. It comes as Valley Fest has already announced other Afterburner acts - Stanton Warriors, Fabio and Grooverider, Huey Morgan, Mungo's Hifi, Dr Meaker, Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) DJ set, The Nextmen, Ratpack and Gardna.

As well as DJs, festival-goers can expect 'boundary-pushing' fire performances, immersive dancefloors, and 'mind-boggling' fire and light effects. Arcadia's Lords of Lightning will shoot bolts of electricity from their bodies, at different sonic frequencies, creating 'music lightning', in what organisers have called a 'not to be missed' show.

BillyChip Live is the fundraising events arm of BillyChip, Bristol-born homeless charity and long-time partner of Valley Fest. While interactive streaming network PlayHuman, who is supporting the takeover, helps independent artists and creators 'take back control of their creativity, commerce and community'.

Save Our Scene is an events and media organisation who describe themselves as advocates for the protection of grassroots music. George Fleming from Save our Scene says: “We’re so excited to be part of Valley Fest and take over Arcadia’s Afterburner stage for a night of complete madness with artists, including Badger, Don Letts, Jaguar Skills and Oko!”

Tickets for Valley Fest, with Thursday entry, are priced at around £210 (plus booking fee) and can be bought in instalments to spread the cost. Other artists on the main festival line-up include Sister Sledge, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Tinie Tempah, The Skids, The Feeling, Doreen Doreen, and more.
