Vanessa Feltz’s ex Ben Ofoedu admits extent of cheating - including sexting fans

Vanessa Feltz's ex Ben Ofoedu has admitted that the extent of his cheating included an affair from eight years ago that the couple kept secret, and recently sexting fans.

Earlier this week, broadcaster Feltz, 60, announced the sad news that she had split from partner of 16 years Ofoedu, 50, explaining "once the trust is gone you can’t really get that back".

Now, Phats & Small singer Ofoedu has spoken to the Sunday Mirror about his betrayal, admitting that Feltz had been keeping his secret about an affair for eight years.

He told how he had cheated with a woman "the same age as Vanessa, possibly older" who he met in Ibiza while performing there in 2015.

Ofoedu said he had sex with the woman three times in a short space of time, describing it as "purely sexual" and feeling "like a chore".

But the woman had contacted Feltz to reveal the cheating and Ofoedu said that they had worked hard to rebuild trust in their relationship while keeping the affair out of the public eye.

However, last year he struck up a friendship with a fan over Instagram and ended up exchanging sexts which Feltz discovered on Christmas Day, and another fan also contacted her to claim Ofoedu made sexually suggestive comments to her after an appearance at Butlins - although he says he does not remember saying anything.

Feltz's previous marriage to Michael Kurer had ended after he cheated, and Ofoedu said of the Ibiza affair: "No one knew, but I moved out for a little while. We worked it out. She forgave me. It took her a lot to do that. I knew how hurt she was. I felt absolutely terrible."

He added that he had been trying to contact Feltz daily about his most recent betrayal, but said that she had blocked him, calling her response "a bit scorched earth".

On the recent sexting with a fan, Ofoedu admitted: "I was sex texting somebody," adding that the fan had sent him nude photos and that while he had never sent one back, he did engage in flirty messages.

He said: "When you’re in a relationship you shouldn’t be talking to someone who your other half doesn’t know about. I can’t justify it, I knew I was in the wrong."

Ofoedu also spoke about his shame at allowing his long-term relationship - which included being close with Feltz's children and grandchildren - fall apart over someone he had never met, revealing that he had originally told Feltz the sexts were to an ex before admitting the truth.

He said: "I told her it was a random. It was so embarrassing. I was ashamed that it was a random person. Someone who didn’t matter took down everything that we’d built over those years."

When Feltz announced the split, she wrote on Instagram: "It’s now clear that it’s over and I feel that you know once the trust is gone you can’t really get that back. I’m pretty disappointed and shocked about those horrible things but also full of resolve because I’m not going to let this defeat me."
