Vanessa Feltz has admitted she was disgusted and offended when Russell Brand asked to have sex with her daughters during a TV interview.

The This Morning presenter worked with the comedian — who is the subject of a police investigation into an alleged sexual assault in central London in 2003 — on E4 and recalled an incident in 2006 when Brand made lewd jokes about her then teenage daughters on his chat show.

Feltz, 61, played a clip of his comments on her TalkTV show in which he asked her "Can I have it off with either you or your daughters?", to which she replied: "No, you may not! "

She said: "Yuck, precisely, that’s what I thought then and that’s what I think now.

"It’s terribly awkward when you are a guest on somebody else’s show, particularly in a theatre, which is full of great fans of the presenter… I was in this unbelievably awkward position where you don’t quite know what to do.

"Are you meant to think it’s funny and play along? Are you meant to stand up and walk out in high dudgeon and look as if you are a spoil-sport and a party-pooper? What are you supposed to do?"

She went on: "I know, I was deeply offended then, as I remain deeply offended now at the idea of him saying, 'I want to have sex with you and both your daughters.'

"I think one of my daughters was 15-years-old at the time and the answer was, as you saw me say there, was emphatically, 'No!'"

Actor, TV and radio presenter and activist Brand, 48, was the subject of a joint investigation by the Sunday Tomes and Channel 4 Dispatches, which aired at the weekend and saw separate allegations of sexual assault and rape from four women between 2006 and 2013.

Brand vehemently denies the allegations and said all of his relationships have been “consensual”.

Feltz said she met Brand "as a friend" after their career paths crossed in the 00s through their work on Big Brother’s Big Mouth and EForum.

She admitted: "I actually admired him enormously... He seemed to bring a tremendous dollop of charisma to the programme, such as I hadn’t seen in any other presenter.

"He really was quite remarkable. So I was there, if he was in 'plain sight', I was looking at him. But I knew he was having sex with many women, but I just thought they were all willing."

In the clip from his chat show after Feltz denies his request to have sex with her or her daughters, he went on: "Or here’s a wacky suggestion…"

Feltz replied: "Or three at once, no!"

Brand said: "Damn, she’s always one step ahead. Vanessa Feltz, come on, some of them are adults."

Feltz said: "I’ve got two daughters and no, the answer is no... Neither. Will you stop it! No, you can’t."

After he called her "selfish" she replied: "When you have your own daughters you will know why I said that."

Brand said in a silly voice: "Well, I won’t sleep with them."

Feltz replied: "God, yuck."
