Is VAR used at Championship play-off final at Wembley?

VAR is the hot topic in football right now - in fact it always seems to have been in the headlines ever since it was introduced.

While the Premier League teams are set to debate its future at their next meeting, it seems like it's not going to go away any time soon, with football's authorities sticking to their guns. Most fans accept it's here to stay, but argue that some big changes are needed if it is to be implemented successfully.

Leeds United have had a season away from the big calls of VAR, but had plenty of dealings with the system during their three seasons in the Premier League before relegation in 2023. The Championship still does not operate VAR, but regardless of its plus and minuses, Leeds will be hoping they are back in the top flight next term.

However, they will come back into contact with VAR even sooner, with the EFL confirming the system will be used for Sunday's Championship play-off final at Wembley.

It was implemented for last weekend's League One and Two play-off finals. The referee and assistants have yet to be confirmed with Sunday's game.
