An annual highlight of the international showbiz calendar, the Venice Film Festival attracts one of the most glittering guest lists of the year.

And while individual film photo calls welcome actors and actresses in their best daywear, it is the evening red carpets that see the most stylish offering.

So far this year the event has played host to a number of stars, including Naomi Watts, Lady Gaga, Claire Foy, Lady Gaga, Emma Stone, Dakota Johnson and Clémence Poésy.

Standing out on the red carpet has been Emma Stone, who's so far worn a deliciously feminine array of Louis Vuitton looks – unsurprising as she is the face of the brand – the showstopper being a semi-sheer nude gown embellished with beads and embroidered flower designs for the opening of her new film The Favourite.

Claire Foy also looked pretty in pink in a Valentino dress ahead of the First Man premiere. She was joined by fellow jury members Clémence Poésy, wearing an embellished, denim Erdem gown, and Naomi Watts, who stunned in a pink Armani Privé column dress.

Lady Gaga turned up in a feathered pink Valentino gown aptly called the 'Flamingo' for the premiere of A Star Is Born, while Cate Blanchett also plumped for feather embellishment in an Armani Privé dress on the same red carpet.
