The Vera cast and crew have been putting the miles in over the last week, with cameras rolling at a new location on Thursday morning, as residents spotted them at a famous South Tyneside building.

After it was announced towards the end of last month that the much loved ITV drama would be ending next year after 14 series, stars including leading lady Brenda Blethyn and sidekick David Leon reunited last week to kick off filming for the last two episodes. Their first port of call was Cambois in Northumberland, before Brenda and her character's famous Land Rover were seen in the vicinity of Blyth beach.

The following day they was plenty of activity inside and outside the Old Town Hall in Gateshead, before production vehicles were also clocked as Ashington train station. Well a new week has brought some new places to the Vera series 14 location list. On Wednesday, a Chronicle photographer captured scenes being filmed at houses in Whitburn, as local extras joined the filming and there was an early start for the Vera cast and crew on Thursday, as they were seen setting up camp outside the Town Hall in South Shields.
