Vicky Pattison, the former Geordie Shore star, has been rushed to A&E after ignoring warning signs of illness. The reality TV personality shared emotional photos from her hospital bed, hooked up to a drip, and admitted that this was the 'wake-up call she needed.

Her fiance, Ercan Ramadan, 30, was by her side during this ordeal. The couple is due to tie the knot in just a few weeks. Pattison revealed that she had been feeling increasingly unwell throughout the week but had struggled to secure an emergency appointment.

Despite suffering from a sore throat, fever, and joint ache, she continued to push through, which ultimately led to her being rushed to A&E.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Vicky broke her silence on the traumatic events of the past few days. She confessed that she would be in the hospital for "some time" and blamed herself for not paying attention to her symptoms, reports the Mirror.

She wrote: "Definitely not the weekend I was intending on having.. I was anticipating being up mount Snowdon for gods sake. Don't even know really to start, but I feel like I dropped that stupid story to let a few people who were concerned about my radio silence know I was being looked after and then loads more people just worried, which was never my intention, you're all too kind btw".

Finally, Vicky reassured her fans that she was feeling better than before and recounted the 'chaotic' events that led to her hospital admission.

She revealed: "I woke up on Thursday with a terrible headache, I ignored it and assumed it was because I'd had super long day the day before- anyway it persisted and became a sore throat, razor blade vibes and I got the fever, aches, pains, sore joints etc'. I tried to get to an emergency doctors appointment but we got stuff in a terrible accident- a journey that should have take an hour took 6 and even though the Dr did his best on the phone he had no real way of knowing what was best."

"Fast forward 24hours and I had started to be sick which was just making everything worse- my throat was so swollen I couldn't swallow, drink water and pain killers were completely out of the question, it was getting to the point where I physically couldn't move."

Vicky continued: "Starting to feel scared, I made another emergency app with my doctor and was referred straight to AandE. after around 36 hours, about 6 bags of fluid, 3 of antibiotics and an untold amount of pain relief we're starting to get to the bottom of things."

"They think it's glandular fever, an big infection and an abscess in my throat. I didn't allow myself any recovery time after covid and it's just compromised my immune system I suppose- I haven't allowed myself any downtime this year," she confessed.

"I have burn the candle at both ends, worked a punishing schedule and ignored all signs that my body was desperate for a break; feeling drained, overwhelmed, can't sleep at night for anxiety exhausted in the morning, loss of appetite, not prioritising my exercise- I haven't done anything since the half marathon in April which is so unlike me'."

"This has been the wake up call I needed but I'm angry with myself I let it go this far- I'll be in hospital for awhile and I think it's for the best."
