Dane Bowers has made some incredible revelations about Victoria Beckham from his time with the former Spice Girl when they worked together in the early 2000s.

According to the Another Level singer, Posh Spice was a world away from the quiet, highly serious fashionista we know today.

Bowers revealed she “literally wet herself” during a European television performance and was desperate have a solo number one because of a “big rivalry” with her fellow Spice Girls.

He says she was “a much better drinker” than singer and constantly performed on stage drunk.

He also claimed there was a conspiracy to keep the pair’s song Out Of My Mind, from reaching the top spot in the charts, with record company bigwigs allegedly buying up “loads of records” to send DJ Spiller and then-unknown singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor to number one with Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love).

Out Of My Mind eventually went to the number 2 spot, despite selling 250,000 copies.

Of Beckham’s rivalry with her bandmates, Bowers told The Sun: “Victoria was desperate to be No1 because three of the other Spice Girls had already achieved it. There was this big rivalry between them.”

The desire for number one was such that the pair took on a gruelling promotional campaign, including appearing on European television shows.

One such appearance didn’t go to plan when Posh Spice had an accident during the interview.

Bowers revealed: “We spoke to these German guys. During the interview I blurted something out and she wet herself. Literally, in the chair.”

He adds the interview had to stop so she could “sort herself out in the bathroom”.

The unfortunate incident may have been brought on by the amount of fluids she was consuming, which according to Bowers, was quite a lot.

“We were p***ed out of our brains,” he added “I don’t think we ever performed when we weren’t drunk.

The pair would travel on the train between performances drinking “vodka or champagne”.

He said: “We had to go on stage and we were thinking, ‘S***, we’re drunk’.”

Bowers described Beckham as “such a laugh” and says though she admitted she was “no Mariah Carey” she could “hold a tune” but was “a much better drinker”.

Bowers says he has not seen Beckham in years, and with these revelations, that estrangement is likely to continue.
