“In today’s video, we look at McDonald’s food… Keep watching to see how they make the most loved meals!” read the caption to the clip, which boasts over 440,000 views on YouTube.

In the video, created by the YouTube show “How It’s Made,” the narrator describes how the corporation has a “rigorous selection process” for the meat and “works with a group of trusted suppliers to ensure the beef is of the highest quality.”

The narrator explains how the Golden Arches uses a process called “portioning and forming” to ensure that each patty is “consistent in size and thickness.” This allows each beef puck to cook evenly and “retain its juicy texture,” per the clip. McDonald's

“McDonald’s uses a perfect blend of beef cuts, including chuck, round and sirloin to create the perfect balance of flavor and texture,” he adds.

The accompanying video shows a team of butchers painstakingly inspecting and trimming steakhouse-worthy beef cuts in a Willy Wonka-esque state-of-the-art facility to remove “any excess fat gristle or bones,” per the narrator. They then place the chops in a grinder, and season the minced result with salt, pepper and other seasonings.

“The beef patty is the cornerstone of the McDonald’s burger and it all starts with the selection of the beef,” the narrator described. YouTube / How It's Made

Then, it’s time to flip the burgers. “Once the patties are formed, they are cooked on a grill using a unique process called continuous grilling,” the narrator explains. “The grill is heated to a high temperature and the patties are seared on each side for a specific amount of time.”

He added, “This technique helps to lock in the flavor and juices giving the burger that perfect taste.”

Finally, the patties are placed inside a “warming cabinet” so they stay at the “perfect temperature and texture” until they’re ready to be slapped between buns and served as Double Quarter Pounders, Big Macs and other classic Golden Arches noshes.

Needless to say, the YouTube commentariat had beef with the view to a grill with many accusing it of being McDonald’s “propaganda.”

“Does anyone else feel like they are watching an old propaganda video?” said one critic, while another declared, “Am so glad I wasn’t the only one that thought this video was biased and seemed sponsored…”

A third critic added, “This sounds like McD’s paid you ALOT to make this… this is more of an advert than the usual how it’s made lol.”

“I feel so gaslit right now,” added another.

Another accused the video of using “stock footage” that didn’t even depict McDonald’s products.

McDonald’s assures customers on its website that the burgers are from “100% ground beef, formed into hamburger patties and then quickly frozen at our suppliers to seal in great fresh flavor.”

“We add salt and pepper to our burgers when they are cooked on the grill at our restaurants to bring out all that great beef taste,” they declare.
