Activists March in Charlotte Following Mistrial Decision

Activists marched in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday, August 21, after after a mistrial was declared earlier in the day in the case of Randall Kerrick, a white police officer, who was charged with “voluntary manslaughter” after the shooting death of Jonathan Ferrell, an unarmed black man, in 2013.

Police in riot gear responded to a disturbance outside the BB&T Ballpark on that date. Police detained two people after some protesters threw rocks at about 9pm, according to local reports citing a police statement. Credit: Instagram/Daniel Herrera
