Deadly Protests Erupt in Birgunj Ahead of Adoption of a New Constitution

Violent protests erupted in the Nepalese city of Birgunj on September 20, several hours ahead of the country adopting a new constitution. One person, named as Satrudhan Patel, was reportedly shot dead after police opened fire on the protesters. Two others remain in a critical condition.
