Fire Breaks Out at Former Morris Brown Building

Atlanta fire crews fought against a two-alarm blaze at a vacant building formerly owned by the Morris Brown College on Thursday, August 20. Local TV station WXIA said no injuries were reported. The building, known as Gaines Hall, was once a dorm and an administrative building at Morris Brown College before it was sold.

The college’s president, Dr Stanley Pritchett, said the school’s Fountain Hall, Griffin Hightower and administrative building were not affected by the fire. Credit: Matt Belanger/WSB-TV
