Kerry Meets Karzai to Discuss Afghan Election Crisis

US Secretary of State John Kerry made a visit to Afghanistan on Friday, July 11, to attempt to ease tensions after the controversial presidential election.

Afghanistan has faced instability after the two candidates in the election – former finance minister Ashraf Ghani and former foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah – claimed victory, amid accusations of election fraud.
