Tatar Student Crowned Winner of 'Crimean Beauty' Pageant

A Tatar student, 21-year-old Ava Seytumerova, was crowned the winner of the annual “Crimean Beauty” contest in Sevastopol, Crimea, on March 9. The Tatar community strongly opposed Russia’s annexation of the Crimean Peninsula in 2014. Seytumerova beat 22 other contestants for the prize.
