Tensions as Israeli Nationalists March for Jerusalem Day

Palestinians protested against a Jerusalem Day procession through the city’s Muslim Quarter on Sunday, May 17. The march marks the 48th anniversary of Israeli forces seizing control of East Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 Six-Day War. Israel’s decision to annex East Jerusalem making it part of its capital has never been internationally recognised.
