Ukrainian Activists Hand Toilet Rolls to Members of Parliament

Ukrainian activists handed rolls of toilet paper to members of parliament in the capital Kiev on Thursday, February 12. The activists were protesting against a legal reform bill being considered by parliament, which would allow politicians to continue to assert influence over judges. A government pledge to create an independent judiciary was printed on the toilet paper.

The incident came on the same day that Ukrainian deputies Yegor Sobolev of the Samopomochi party and Vadim Ivchenko from the Fatherland party, were involved in a physical altercation in the halls of the Ukrainian parliament over the consideration of a different bill.
