Dolphin Leaps Into Boat: Aftermath Video

Dirk Frickman and his family were enjoying a dolphin pod swimming by their boat last month when the unexpected happened: One of the dolphins leapt into the boat. It’s thrashing struck his wife Chrissie and daughter Courtney, breaking both of Chrissie’s ankles. Frickman frantically drove the boat back to the harbor, radioing the sheriff’s department on his way in. The two injured women were transported to a waiting ambulance on shore.

The dolphin, with a cut on its tail, left a bloody mess on the boat until Frickman and two bait dock workers got it out and back into the water, where it swam away. Credit: Dirk Frickman
