US F-16 Crashes in Bavarian Woodland, Pilot Ejects

A US F-16 fighter jet crashed in a wooded area in Germany’s Bavaria region on Tuesday, August 11. According to reports, the incident happened shortly before 11am local time, with the pilot ejecting before the crash. The jet had taken off from the US Air Force’s Spangdahlem Air Base in western Germany, 90 miles west of Frankfurt. The pilot was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries.
