Hyundai redesigned the mid-size Santa Fe SUV for 2024, and it's hardly recognizable from before. A blocky new look pays dividends inside, as the cabin has more room than before. The finishes are quite nice, too, especially on our top-trim Santa Fe Calligraphy model.
The new Santa Fe is larger than before—in wheelbase, width, and overall length.
The new design incorporates many "H" motifs, such as the ones seen here in the headlights.
Designers say that the squared-off shape is largely in service of the rear tailgate and cargo area.
A turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four is now the standard engine choice.
The 277-hp engine pairs with either front- or all-wheel drive.
An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is standard.
We're not sure the dual-clutch is the best choice for this vehicle, as it's laggy during low-speed maneuvers.
There will also be a Santa Fe hybrid which promises better fuel economy.
Our test car stickered for just over $50,000, and that's essentially with all the options.
This matte paint color is called Earthy Brass, and it's a $1000 option.
