Ram is introducing the ProMaster EV, an electric variant of its full-size van, which will focus on serving last-mile delivery operators.
The Ram ProMaster EV packs a 110.0-kWh battery, good for 162 miles of range in city driving, according to the automaker.
Ram says the ProMaster EV will be able to charge at up to 150 kW on a DC fast charger.
When hooked up to a Level 2 charger, the ProMaster EV's onboard charger can handle up to 11 kW.
The ProMaster EV is powered by an electric motor that drives the front wheels, producing 268 hp and 302 pound-feet of torque.
While the battery pack lives under the floor, Ram says the 524 cubic feet of cargo room is unchanged from the gas-powered ProMaster.
The ProMaster EV will be offered in a delivery-specific variant, as well as two cargo configurations measuring 12 feet and 13.5 feet long.
The payload capacity is listed at 3020 pounds for the cargo variant and 2030 pounds for the delivery model.
The ProMaster EV will use Ram Telematics to track data that will help fleet operators create more efficient routes and drive more safely.
The cabin is the same as the standard gas-powered van, with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
We expect the 2024 Ram ProMaster EV to go on sale in the first half of this year, although pricing has yet to be announced.
