The View Surprises Co-Host Alyssa Farah Griffin With a Hanson Concert for Her Birthday — Watch Video

The View surprised Alyssa Farah Griffin with the ultimate throwback for her 35th birthday.

During Friday’s episode of ABC’s long-running daytime talk show, Griffin walked out expecting to host a dog adoption segment, only to find that her favorite ’90s band Hanson — comprised of brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac — was on stage to deliver a one-of-a-kind concert experience.

What followed was a medley of some of their greatest hits, including “Penny and Me,” “Where’s the Love” and, of course, “MMMBop.” Watch above.

After their performance, Griffin made a beeline for drummer Zac, now 38, who was just 11 years old when Hanson broke out in 1997. “You were my first crush,” she told him.

“You got me Hanson!” Griffin gushed to her co-hosts. “I was genuinely shocked, which is the best.”

It was later revealed that this performance marked something of an anniversary, with eldest brother Isaac pointing out that it’d been 20 years since the band first sang “Penny and Me” on The View. You can watch that performance from April 2004 below:

Hanson — who have put out 10 additional studio albums since 1997’s multi-platinum “Middle of Nowhere” — are set to release an extended edition of their 2004 LP “Underneath” on Friday, Oct. 4. A new music video for “Penny and Me,” directed by Grey’s Anatomy’s Natalie Morales and starring The O.C.’s Samaire Armstrong, was released earlier this month.
