Voting today will give you the power to decide how the UK is run for at least the next five years.

The MPs you help to elect will be making crucial decisions on issues you care about – from the NHS and social care to housing, education, the environment and the economy.

By voting in today’s General Election, you can support a candidate who will represent your views in Parliament, and can influence the policies you want to see changed. This election is your chance to speak out if you don’t like the way the country is being run.

Voting is not the only way to participate in our democracy, but it’s the quickest and easiest way.

If you don’t vote today, you’ll have no say over who will be making decisions on crucial issues which affect the health and happiness of you and your family.

If you don't vote today, you'll have no right to complain.

PlymouthLive will have live coverage through the night so you can follow every twist and turn as it happens, including the results as they come in. Reporter Carl Eve will be at the count at Plymouth Life Centre, where Plymouth Moor View, Plymouth Sutton and Devonport and South West Devon will all be declared.

Plymouth Moor View, currently held by Conservative Johnny Mercer, is expected to be the first result to be announced, at around 5.15am on Friday. Neighbouring Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, held by Labour's Luke Pollard, is predicted to follow shortly after at around 5.30am.

South West Devon, where sitting Tory MP Sir Gary Streeter is standing down and being replaced as a candidate by Rebecca Smith, is likely to be the final city constituency to declare, at around 6am. PlymouthLive will also keep you updated on the results in South East Cornwall and Torridge and Tavistock.
