VOTES in Poole will be counted for a third time as the result remains too close to call.

As reported, a full recount was called after the Labour and Conservative candidates were separated by just six votes.

But after the recount, it is understood Labour candidate Neil Duncan-Jordan and previous Conservative MP Sir Robert Syms are separated by around 20.

Returning officer Graham Farrant said: “We are going to have to do a further level of recount.”

He added: “The numbers are still too close to call, there’s been a bit of movement so there will be a further recount.”

Earlier, votes were subject to a ‘bundle flick’ after initial results were within 100 votes.

Following this, a full recount was ordered after the gap dropped to just six votes.

The latest recount was set to begin at around 8.35am.
