Walkers discontinues popular crisps and is 'sorry to break it to you'

Walkers has issued a statement after crisps lovers were left fuming at the discontinuation of a popular product. The crisp maker spoke out after fans of the savoury snack giant were left underwhelmed by the move to scrap Stax.

Walkers responded to complaints on Twitter/X and said: "No current plans, but we'll let the team know you've been asking!" A Walkers spokesperson added the decision had been made to discontinue Stax so the company could focus on "making more of the flavours crisp fans love the most".

The spokesperson said: “We said goodbye to Walkers Stax three years ago. Continuously evolving our portfolio enables us to focus our efforts on making more of the flavours crisp fans love the most." It comes after a customer wrote on Twitter/X: "@walkers_crisps Please don't tell me Stax have been discontinued, I can't find them anywhere in Durham, it's been months.

"Those moustache-fella imposters are rank. Where have Stax gone?" The crisp brand then replied and said: "Really sorry to break it to you Andy, but our Walkers STAX are no more.." A second fumed: "Oh. My. Go......" A third said: "I've been searching for Stax and have just come across this via Google......sad news, they were so much nicer than Pringles!!"

Another wrote: "Have been buying Lays Stax from a couple of online stores, the US version. Plain & S&V are lovely, the rest.... no. Pay through the nose, but pretty close to Walkers Stax. Good enough & miles better than cra-Pringles! Cammie Racing."

Another said: "Was there a lawsuit with @Pringles or something?" Another said: "Doubtful, probably just low sales as people don't like change in general, so they stuck like glue to the un-crunchy, over-flavoured, synthetic-tasting Pringles. Stax were everything the public needed, but nobody knew except the enlightened few"

Another said: "Why why why?? They are vastly superior to Pringles and used to be the only crisps I ate - and used to then find it very hard to stop. Been looking for months. Please bring back at least the Original." Another said: "Have been buying Lays Stax from a couple of online stores, the US version. Plain & S&V are lovely, the rest.... no.
