Walking Dead star responds to Jadis Whisperers theory
Fans of the Walking Dead comics are excitedly waiting for the introduction of the Whisperers.
But is there a chance that we've actually already met the group? Some people have been speculating that the junkyard group will become the Whisperers, and that their leader Jadis will become Alpha.
Pollyanna McIntosh, who plays Jadis, chose to be very careful with her words when confronted about this theory.
"I think, you know, in a very diplomatic, politician type of way, I can say I think anything is possible in this universe we're inhabiting right now, and that's one of the really strong points of the show because I'm not going to tell you anything!" she told ComicBook.
Anything is possible? Interesting.
For those who don't read the comics, the Whisperers are the next major antagonist after the threat of Negan and the Saviors have been dealt with. They end up killing characters such as Rosita and Ezekiel.
They dress themselves in the skin of zombies for camouflage and to walk among the walkers. This group targets the living, believing the undead should be left unharmed.
It wasn't the first time McIntosh has been asked about whether or not Jadis is Alpha from the comic books – but this time around her response was more open.
When she was presented with the theory in February, she said she had no idea who Alpha was and poured cold water all over the speculation.
"I've heard a lot of rumours about Alpha from the fans, but I don't know anything about them," she previously said.
"I knew that wasn't my character, and I didn't want to sully my performance by reading the comics for the first time."
Jadis will appear in season eight, which is currently shooting right now.
The new episodes will see Rick and Negan going head to head – and it looks like it's going to be all-out war, as Alexandria, Hilltop, and Kingdom unite against the Saviors and Jadis's Scavengers.
The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
