Walmart Recalls Over 50,000 Vegetable Choppers Due to Laceration Hazard

Injuries occurred during the assembly, handling, or cleaning of the chopper.

Walmart recalled its Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers due to a laceration hazard. The company sold roughly 51,750 mini choppers nationwide in stores and online, with prices ranging from $10 to $15 each.

Walmart Recalls Its Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers

Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers were sold in Walmart stores nationwide and online between August 2022 and October 2023. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) announced the recall on April 5, 2024, after the company "received five reports of lacerations, two of which required medical attention, including stitches. Injuries occurred during assembly of the product or during cleaning/handling of the product."

This recall impacts the Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers with model number MS14100094536S1. The model number is labeled and located on the bottom of the clear plastic bowl. USCPSC says the recalled products "are rechargeable and cordless, and have a green lid, white body, and clear plastic bowl." They also have only "one blade attachment, which consists of three curved blades on one white plastic spindle."

If you purchased a Mainstays Electric Mini Chopper, you should stop using it immediately and contact Walmart directly or bring it back to your local store for a full refund.
