Warren O'Hora agrees Hibs transfer as David Gray wins chase to make defender second summer recruit

Hibs have won the race to sign Irish defender Warren O’Hora.

Record Sport understands the 25-year-old has agreed a deal at Easter Road and is set to become David Gray’s second signing of the summer. O’Hora is a free agent after leaving MK Dons where he spent the last four years.

He had interest south of the border with Exeter City among a number of clubs keen on handing him a fresh start in the EFL. But Hibs have beaten off the competition and are expected to confirm the Dubliner’s arrival in the next 24 hours. Gray is also keen on former Blackpool defender Marvin Ekpiteta as he looks to shore up his backline following the departure of Paul Hanlon and Will Fish who has returned to Manchester United after his loan spell in Leith.

Club Brugge keeper Josef Bursik became the new head coach’s first signing on Monday when he agreed a year-long loan deal. Now O’Hara - capped by Ireland at U18 and U19 level - is set to become signing number two.
