A WARRINGTON primary school has introduced an exciting new version of outdoor play for pupils.

Cinnamon Brow Primary has been working with programme coordinators OPAL over the last year to welcome a new adaptation of playtime filled with physical activities that pupils can get stuck into.

OPAL details a vision to ensure ‘every child in every school has an amazing hour of high-quality play every day’.

And the school has reflected the ‘positive impact’ the programme has had on its pupils since being introduced.

The programme focuses on outdoor play and encourages children to explore nature and different materials during playtime as a way to promote better mental health and wellbeing.

Cinnamon Brow pupils can be seen having fun, playing in the mud with plastic crates and other materials including recycled objects.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Over the last year we have been working with Opal Play to transform playtime in our school.

“This has had such a positive impact on our children's mental wellbeing and learning.

“Parents have been helping to source new resources for us which has been wonderful.”
