Police in Washington are asking for the public’s help in locating a teen they believe to be connected to a homicide.

On Oct. 16, Major Crimes Detectives with the King County Sheriff's Office named 17-year-old Miguel Rivera Dominguez as a suspect in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Marcel Da’jon Wagner. The crime was committed on Oct. 3 at approximately 5:10 p.m. as the two were passengers on a Metro Bus.

Authorities say the two men did not appear to know each other, and have called the shooting unprovoked.

Wagner was said to be asleep when he was shot. Around 15 other passengers were on the bus at the time.

“We’re still actively looking for the suspect,” a King County Sheriff's Office spokesperson told PEOPLE on Thursday.

Though Dominguez has not been taken into custody, he has been charged with murder in the first degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree.

His bail is set at $3 million. Because the suspect is 17 years old, he has been charged as an adult.

According to a press release shared by the sheriff’s office, “Deputies from the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to the vicinity of SW Roxbury ST and 15th Ave SW for reports of a shooting that occurred on a Metro bus. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a single victim, who was unfortunately pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The department used “multiple specialized units, including Guardian 1 aerial support and a K9 Unit” to search for the suspect to no avail.

Charging documents add that “with premeditated intent to cause the death of another person, [Dominguez] did cause the death of Marcel D Wagner," reports ABC News.

Dominguez has no prior criminal history.

“Without any provocation, and in fact without having ever interacted with the victim at all, the defendant fired five rounds into the victim’s head and neck at point blank range,” Leesa Manion, prosecuting attorney for King County, said in the charging documents, per ABC News. “The defendant then fired two more shots through the door of the bus and fled to a location where he could change his clothing before returning home again.”

Manion alleged that Dominguez’s actions were methodical.

“The steps the defendant took to conceal his identity and his calculated actions on the bus underscore the planned and deliberate nature of this crime,” she added.

The prosecutor called the crime a “senseless execution of a total stranger,” and believes that if given the chance, Dominguez “will commit future violent offenses.”

In the press release, the sheriff’s office said Dominguez “is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.”
