Some of the most acclaimed TV shows and films of the year will be feted by peers and journalists Sunday, at the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards.
Voted on by the Critics’ Choice Association (CCA), this is the 29th year of the annual awards show, which is one of the few ceremonies to honor both film and television. This year’s ceremony is once again hosted by Chelsea Handler and will air live from the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport.

Critics’ Choice Awards 2024: Host, Nominees
The live-action Barbie leads the pack this year with a record-setting 18 nominations, including Best Picture and acting nods for Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera. Ferrera will also receive the SeeHer Award, which “honors a woman who advocates for gender equality, portrays characters with authenticity, defies stereotypes and pushes boundaries.”
Golden Globe winner Oppenheimer and Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things each garnered 13 nominations, while Killers of the Flower Moon follows with 12 nods. Harrison Ford, meantime, is set to receive the Career Achievement Award.
On the television front, The Morning Show leads the TV contenders with six nominations, including Best Drama Series, and acting nods for both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Nicole Beharie and Karen Pittman. Succession has five Critics Choice nominations, while The Bear, Abbott Elementary and Beef are among the series with four nods each.
The winners will be revealed at the star-studded gala hosted by Chelsea Handler this Sunday, airing live on The CW from 7-10 p.m. Watch the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony online free with DirecTV Stream.
