Watch Anne Hathaway Dish to Anna Wintour That She 'Can't Turn but Can Breathe' in Supertight Versace Dress
The duo's encounter at the Versace fashion show in Milan felt very "Devil Wears Prada"
Anne Hathaway's Milan Fashion Week look was red hot, but it's her interaction with fashion industry icon Anna Wintour that has everyone talking.
The actress, 41, wore a red leather corset dress that debuted on the Versace fall/winter 2024 womenswear runway show on Friday as she sat in the front row.
In a candid moment at the show captured by Lara Volpato for Women's Wear Daily on Instagram, Hathaway told Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour that she made some sacrifices when she chose to wear the supertight dress.
"Can you breathe?" Wintour candidly asked Hathaway in the clip.
"Very easily. I can't turn but I can breathe," Hathaway answered honestly with a laugh.
The Devil Wears Prada star and the movie's inspiration, 74, exchanged pleasantries for a few more seconds before the show began. The moment gave off vibes of being straight out of the 2006 movie in which Hathaway starred — it also made us extra excited for the cast reunion happening at the 2024 SAG Awards.
Hathaway didn't however give assistant Andy Sachs vibes on Friday — she was all main character energy in her vibrant, va-va-voom Versace design. The Oscar winner paired the dress with a pair of red pumps, a black handbag, gold bracelets and dramatic eye makeup.

The model wearing the dress on the runway also had a monochromatic moment in a pair of matching red leather driving gloves and red heels with straps at the ankles.
Wintour and Hathaway were spectators of the show, which featured Gigi Hadid on the runway in a black dress featuring a dramatic white collar.
Hathaway, a Versace ambassador, starred in a an Icons campaign for the brand in April 2023.
"To me, the Versace Icons collection is timeless elegance with an edge. I'm so proud of these images which seem to represent Donatella's vision of empowerment," she shared in a statement at the time. "What has left the biggest impression on me from this amazing experience is Donatella's heart, generosity, and kindness. She and everyone in the Versace Family have been so incredibly welcoming and supportive of me, for which I am very grateful. What a thrill to be a Versace woman!"
Following her campaign moment, she had pulled off a major Versace red carpet look at the 2023 Met Gala and has worn the label for a number of big moments since.
