Watch: Burglar makes his escape on mobility scooter after smash and grab pharmacy raid

This is the bizarre moment that a man escaped a crime scene on a mobility scooter after a smash and grab raid at a pharmacy in Essex.

Police say that the unusual getaway vehicle was used in a raid on Kry BA Chemists in Heathway, Dagenham on the 25th May - only months before a second raid on a pharmacy in the area.

CCTV footage shows the moment that two men walked over to the front of the shop and used a metal bar to prise open the shutters to gain access to the premises.

A cash till was taken from the store and given to a waiting accomplice in a mobility scooter - who is seen speeding away from the scene with the till on his lap.

Police believe that the raid is connected to a copycat incident at Paks Cosmetic Centre on August 9th - where cash was similarly taken after the security shutters were damaged.

Four suspects were captured on the CCTV, and police have now issued descriptions in a bid to track them down.

The first is described as a white man of medium build with a dark beard, who was wearing a black cap, a blue top with writing, dark trainers, and light coloured gloves.

The second man, who made his escape on the mobility scooter, is believed to be white with a bald head and dark clothing.

The third and fourth suspects are also believed to be white, and were wearing dark coloured clothing.
