WATCH out for cyclists, a charity has warned, as riders take to the streets to raise money.

Macmillan Cancer Support will be hosting its annual Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride along Stour Valley, Winterbourne Valley and to some famous Dorset landmarks such as Bulbarrow Hill and Milton Abbas.

The ride, taking place on Saturday, July 7, will offer a choice of three distances including 38, 48 and 63 miles.

Cyclists will leave Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground between 8.30am and 10am and head towards Wimborne and then return throughout the day via Lytchett Matravers.

Motorists are asked to be particularly vigilant as cyclists cross the main roads especially at Red Post and the A350 at Lytchett Matravers.

The Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride is sponsored by Sunseeker International and supported by Primera Sports, Coles Miller Solicitors and Jenkins Marine.

A spokesman said: “Thanks to their help all the money raised and donated by the cyclists can go directly to help support people living with cancer.”

Information about entering the ride on the day can be found at the website www.macmillanbikeride.co.uk
