Watch the first trailer for David Duchovny's Pet Sematary prequel
If you're after an early Halloween scare, Paramount+ has released the first trailer for upcoming prequel movie Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, which you can watch above.
The new movie, starring David Duchovny and The Haunting of Hill House's Henry Thomas, is based on the "untold chapter" from Stephen King's classic novel Pet Sematary that explores just what happened in Ludlow, Maine.
Set in 1969, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines follows a young Jud Crandall (Jackson White) who has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, until he discovers sinister secrets that force him to confront a dark family history.
Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil which has gripped Ludlow since its founding and has the power to destroy everything.
The new movie is a prequel to the 2019 adaptation of Pet Sematary and if you're worried that it's just a cheap cashgrab, Stephen King has shared his approval for the new movie and how it fits in with his original story.
"In the book, this is the story Jud Crandall tells Louis Creed to try and dissuade him from using the Pet Sematary. The screenplay takes a few liberties, but it's a fine story. David Duchovny is excellent. The secret, as always, is caring about the characters," he wrote.
