‘Watch What Happens Live’ Gets 15th Anniversary Special on Bravo

Bravo is taking Watch What Happens Live into primetime for the show’s 15th anniversary.

The cable network will celebrate the Andy Cohen-hosted late night show with a special episode at 9 p.m. ET/PT June 30 (a couple weeks shy of the actual 15th anniversary; WWHL premiered on July 16, 2009). Guests will be announced closer to the airdate, but Bravo is promising a “jam-packed lineup” of celebrities and Bravo stars.

More from The Hollywood Reporter

“We’ve been at this for 15 years and people recognize how differently we approach things than other late night shows — the whole high-low sensibility, how we get people to talk about things they won’t discuss anywhere else,” Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent cover story. He also discussed the chances of Watch What Happens Live getting its first Emmy nomination in the talk series field: “My people are like, “This year’s gonna be the year for us!” But I tell them they’re wasting their time. Maybe I’m jaded. But I just don’t think Emmy voters look at it as anything kind of serious or realistic. I don’t know. I think it’s out of their box and maybe it will never be in their box. … I appreciate that they want it to happen and I would love it to happen. But ultimately, I’m more concerned with just getting to keep doing the show.”

Leading up to the anniversary special, Watch What Happens Live will look back at standout moments from the past 15 years within the show.

Regarding the special, Cohen said in a statement, “15 is my new lucky number. I can’t wait to celebrate the WWHL legacy. Thank you to Bravo for always having faith in our little late-night show that could — allowing me to ‘go there,’ play ridiculous games, host incredible guests and generate endless water-cooler talk. This is my dream job, and I hope I never wake up.”

Embassy Row produces WWHL. Michael Davies, Deirdre Connolly, John Jude Schultz and Cohen executive produce.
