Watch: Tesco Driver Wows Mall Crowd With Dazzling Piano Skills

A simple piano-playing session has turned a Tesco van driver into an online sensation after he wowed crowds at a shopping mall with his tinkering skills.

Tom Moulton walked past the piano at the Highcross Shopping Centre in Leicester last week and was nagged at by his mum to have a play.

Giving in any reluctance, the 22-year-old sat down and launched into a note-perfect rendition of the Titanic theme tune, stunning onlookers into silence.

His proud mum Jane Wood uploaded the video later than night and now the clip has been viewed over 200,000 times.

A video taken by his mum Jane Wood, 50, was posted on Facebook after his performance last Thursday (22/10) and has been viewed and shared a staggering 200,000 times.

What makes Tom’s performance even more stunning is the fact that he has never had a music lesson and cannot read music.

Instead, he taught himself how to play by copying film soundtracks - and chose the Titanic theme for his public showcase.

Dozens of shoppers can be seen in the footage standing in amazement as Tom, wearing a baseball hat and hoodie, continues to play.

A crowd soon gathered and gave him a standing ovation after he played for nearly four minutes.

Tom, who hasn’t played the Titanic song for five years, said he was “blown away” by the reaction since the clip went viral.

He said: “When my mum saw the piano in the shopping centre she said ‘why don’t you try?’ I didn’t really want to but then just did it to keep mum happy.

“At first I made a few mistakes and mum said 'start again’ and then it all suddenly came back to me.

"I have never played in public before and I do it all from memory because I can’t read music.

“It was wonderful when I finished and got a round of applause.”

Tom revealed that he had now been contacted by people who encouraged him to start playing again after being moved to tears by his performance.

He added: "It’s gone a bit mad. I’ve had a lot of people thanking me and telling me it’s made them cry.

"I used to play all the time when I lived at my parents, but since I moved out and got a full time job I haven’t really had the opportunity.

"So it’s lovely to get such a positive reaction.”

Tom surely has to apply for next year’s Britain’s Got Talent.
