Washout on Smith County road near I-20 repaired

UPDATE: According to Smith County, the water main has been repaired and the road has been temporarily patched to be repaved next week. The county said that the road is reopened.

SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – Part of a Smith County road is impassable due to a sizeable washout.

A water main break caused a washout on CR 431, commonly known as Jim Hogg Road, just north of I-20. Lindale Rural Water Supply will repair the break before county road and bridge crews can start road repairs.

The time the road will reopen is unknown as of Friday at 11:30 a.m.
