Waterbombing Aircraft and Firefighters Attack Blaze in Sydney's West

Firefighters and a waterbombing aircraft attacked a blaze which broke out in Wallacia, Western Sydney, on Wednesday, September 20.

Footage posted by the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) shows firefighters on the ground attempting to hose down flames burning close to a road.

NSWRFS said as of 1pm on September 20 there were 65 fires burning around the state, with 19 yet to be contained.

More than 700 firefighters and incident management team members are working to bring the fires under control.

A total fire ban was issued for parts of the state, including Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter and Upper Central West Plains.
