July may have begun but don't go digging out the shades and shorts just yet as this week looks set to be somewhat wet.

According to the latest forecast from the Met Office, Monday is set to get off to a cloudy morning with occasional rain, perhaps turning heavy for a time.

The rain is set to clear from the west during the afternoon, with some late sunshine developing and a maximum temperature 18C.

The outlook for the rest of the week shows cloud but with some brightness between a few showers on Tuesday.

We can expect more persistent cloud and rain on Wednesday, followed by a few showers.

As voters go to the polls in the election on Thursday we can expect it to be increasingly windy with showers or perhaps more persistent rain.
