Weekend review of all the matches in NSSCL Division One

Oakamoor cruised to victory in Sunday’s NSSCL Division One game at Sandbach.

Hosts Sandbach took first use, but were limited to 91 all out.

Freddie Wood (3-1) and Dilesh Gunarathne (3-25) took three wickets apiece, with the others being shared by Rashmika Mewan and Thomas Hayes.

The weather reduced Oakamoor’s target to 70 - and they needed just 12.2 overs to seal a 10-wicket win as Joe Avery compiled 38 not out.

Leaders Bignall End were comfortable winners at home against Rode Park & Lawton.

Jacob Maskrey’s unbeaten 50, which contained five fours and two sixes, fronted Bignall End’s charge to 202-8 from their 40 overs.

Ade Lello (34), Niall Hassett (32), George Harding (25) and Aunn Shah (23) were also in fine fettle.

Richard Bebbington claimed 3-21 and there were a couple of wickets apiece for Oliver Clarke and Rhys Chambers.

James MacGillivray (29), Bebbington (24) and Oliver Gallimore (20) led the Rode Park & Lawton reply.

But they were limited to 114-7 at stumps after double strikes from Harding and Jamie Heath.

Porthill Park seconds romped to victory on their trip to Blythe.

Tom Timmis hit 10 fours and one six in his 72 to underpin Porthill Park’s 212-9 from their 40 overs.

Blake Blumeris added an unbeaten 45, with Tom Kesteven chipping in with 24.

Scott Degg and Junaid Ali scooped 3-26 and 3-52 respectively.

Ali top-scored with 37 on the resumption, but Blythe were routed for just 77.

Liam Hassett helped himself to 5-12, with Blumeris snaring a couple of victims.

Barlaston won on their journey to Endon.

Edward Seabridge’s 48, Fida Hussain’s 40 and 33 from Jack Davies guided Barlaston to 188-6 from their allocation. Lewis Hamnett took two wickets.

Endon gave their chase a decent go, fronted by Dan Bailey’s 42, Sam Rowley’s 30 and Guy Tinwell’s 21.

But Matthew Myers (4-26) and Ethan Squire (3-4) saw Endon bowled out for 150.

Cheadle seconds executed a fine run chase to bank a five-wicket win at home against Stone SP 2nd XI.

Stone SP set a challenging target by putting 240-9 on the board.

However, Cheadle rose to the occasion as they knocked off the runs with three overs to spare.

Hem Heath seconds won by six wickets against Meir Heath.

Visitors Meir Heath were dismissed for 111 which didn’t prove to be a challenge for the home side.

In Saturday’s rain-affected matches, Sandbach won at home against Porthill Park seconds by five wickets.

The match was reduced to 26 overs per side, with Porthill Park amassing 105-3. Joe Bridgewater and Dan Hancock chipped in with 45 not out and 36 respectively. Saeed Ali took two wickets.

Sandbach openers Ather Abid (39) and Gareth Lennon (33) gave the hosts a good start in reply.

Adam Ralphs picked up 4-29, before Jack Collett struck 23 not out to secure the win with three balls remaining.

Hem Heath seconds were six-wicket winners against Endon.

Endon were all out for 109 - in which George Mellor made 23 - as Wasim Khan (3-9), Rob Price (3-33) and Ben Topley (3-34) all claimed three wickets.

Nazakat Ali (32no) and Usama Sajjad Dar (23no) then teamed up to see Hem Heath home.

Bignall End were 161-6 at home in their match with Blythe before the rain won the day, while Cheadle 2nd XI had reached 94-4 against Barlaston.

Oakamoor were 115-1 against Meir Heath before the elements intervened.

Rode Park & Lawton posted 166-5 against Stone SP seconds, who replied with 117-8.
