Cardiff Rugby fans were left with goosebumps after watching the club's "spine-tingling" new video promoting their season tickets.

The two-and-a-half minute clip was posted on Cardiff's social media platforms on Tuesday and sees spoken word poet Duke Al Durham pay tribute to the club's history and look ahead to the future under their new owners. He is accompanied by the Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir, who provide stirring background vocals.

With stunning drone shots of the poet and choir standing on the floodlit Arms Park pitch interspersed with archive footage of some of the club's most famous players and achievements, the video has fired up fans with even rival supporters impressed by what they had seen. It has had its desired effect too, with some Cardiff fans declaring "take my money" as they rushed to renew their season tickets.

The video starts with Durham - who goes by the stage name Duke Al - standing in front of the choir and delcaring that while the club is entering a "new era" with "new players and new owners", it will "always [be] Cardiff". He continues: "The city of raw grit. Gumshield in, lower the castle's drawbridge. Walk with the warriors led by Jockey. Ball gripped between the palms ready to fight. The North and South rivalry unites

"This is a call to Arms. Park your worries, don your supportive game face for 80 minutes escape, prepare to be enterained. But first, let me salute to The King on Queen Street, to the Duke's Arcade. The Blue and Blacks are great, legends who laced their boots to pave the way to inspire the new players of the game today. The calm before the storm."

With his wordplay in full flow, Duke Al works his way through Cardiff's current crop of players. "Any battle for the ball, Cam'll win it," he says in reference to full-back Cameron Winnett, adding: "We've got Cabango, Faletau and the Rhondda front row who bust a gut to the finish. To any opposition, I don't mean to scare you but see what happens when you mess with the Mann, I Aber-dare you.

"Because no game's a friendly, fans form a frenzy when out comes the man repping Ely, Mackenzie. He means business, takes no prisoners. Big hits, Josh 'ad 'em. Hear the roar from the home crowd. Grady stepping up for Barry and the Vale. Shoutout to Dinas Powys, my home town. Not forgetting the fly-halves, pass De Beer, cheers! Soon we'll also have Sheedy here."

The poet then pays tribute to the region's history, continuing: "Fly half, Cardiff created that phrase and the three-quarter system elevating the game. We've played some tough teams but we'll never fall back, I'm getting goosebumps from moments I recall back.

"Like the giant who changed the game with a heart as big as a blue whale, Jonah. TJ's resilience, Muller knocking people over, the princes of the centre, first Gwyn, then Bleddyn. This has been the season of the fight, like Dr Jack when he stunned minds, the only fighter to not get rocked by Rocky, now that's a punchline.

"Gareth Edwards, what a legend. Sox and Steve-O sprinting in the zone. Jenks always dreamed of playing for Cardiff, Terry brought out the passion at Holme," he added. "Past and present players showing strength through unity. New era, new players, new owners, one community. Ymlaen Caerdydd, it's true, it's fact. We are the best team. Who? The Blue and the Blacks."

The stunning video left fans blown away, while former players Liam Williams and Tom Shanklin also showed their appreciation with the latter admitting he had goosebumps from watching along. Scotland international Kelly Brown was also impressed as he replied to the video with three applause emojis.

"Brilliant video," wrote one supporter. "Spine-tingling stuff." Another wrote: "Wow, Cardiff comms team, take a bow," while a third added: "I don't know how, but yet again, you've taken it to another level. Properly awe-inspiring."

After another difficult year in Welsh rugby - with Cardiff one of the three Welsh regions currently in the bottom five of the URC - the video appears to have got fans suitably fired up for next season. "If this doesn't get you excited, I don't know what will," wrote one, as another commented: "Shut up and take my money!".

Even rival fans were tempted to purchase a season ticket, such was the power of the video. "This is very good," wrote one viewer, who added: "Makes me want to buy one and I don't even support you." Echoing that comment, another said: "Well done Cardiff, almost got me buying one and I'm a Scarlet!".

However, some Cardiff fans were distracted by the appearance of Mason Grady, who has previously been linked with a move away from Welsh rugby at the end of the season amid interest from Premiership clubs. There is expectation that Grady is set to stay in Wales, however, and some supporters are taking his feature as a suggestion that he will be lining up at Arms Park again next season.

"Encouraging to see Mason Grady," wrote one, while another added: "Mason was mentioned, surely that's a sign he's staying."
