Ospreys scrum-half Luke Davies has appeared in court charged with robbery. The 22-year-old, who has made 19 appearances for the region since joining last summer, was one of five men to appear at Llanelli Magistrates Court on May 9.

All five defendants are alleged to have stolen four designer watches worth a total of £1,800 from an address in Llanelli on Christmas Eve in 2021, prior to Davies joining the Ospreys.

It is alleged that, alongside the other four defendants, Davies stole two TAG watches, one Breitling watch and one Radar watch from the property on New Road.

The former Wales U20s star, of Tir Becca in Tumble, entered no plea and will now appear at Swansea Crown Court on June 10.

Following his court appearance, Davies' club have released a statement which reads: "The Ospreys are aware of an alleged incident involving Luke Davies, which took place prior to his employment with the club.

"We respect the legal process and will monitor the situation accordingly. The Ospreys cannot make any further comment as it is an ongoing legal matter.”

Davies began his rugby career at Cefneithin before joining the Scarlets Academy. He went on to make his professional debut for the Scarlets against Benetton in October 2021, but was not listed in the squad for the following season and instead turned out for Llanelli RFC.

He joined Jersey Reds as short-term injury cover in March last year, before joining Toby Booth's side in July. The scrum-half also has three caps for Wales at U20s level, having scored on his debut against Italy in March 2022.
