Welsh street turns into 'rubbish dump' just days after new recycling system is introduced

Readers of North Wales Live, are grappling with a growing crisis as their streets transform into "rubbish dumps" due to the council's newly implemented recycling system. The frustration and anger among locals is evident, with many voicing their disappointment over missed collections and overflowing bins.

The Trolibocs system, introduced nine days ago, has resulted in chaos and dissatisfaction among the community. The local authority has apologised for shortcomings with the county's rubbish collections.

Denbighshire Council expects this to be a short-term problem. However, readers have been venting their frustrations in our comments section, and here are some of the reactions.

Daffyddthomas said: "Why make such a fuss? It happens all the time and always will."

Dye mentioned: "This will settle down in time, weeks? Until then what do people do? Litter the streets with overflowing bins?"

Jonesey1 said: "Just think about that….people have ALREADY paid for public services including waste collection and disposal in their council tax and you’re suggesting that they should pay a second time because the Denbighshire council couldn’t organise an eat-in at a chip shop? Either you haven’t thought it through or you’ve never had to account for poor performance."

Statistix agreed: "Well said! DCC council tax went up nearly 10%, reportedly will go up by about 12% next year, and on council tax bands that are already well above those in England. What are we paying for?"

Ilk said: "It’s obvious Rhyl town and country councillors have hidden away and not walked the streets of the town. It should be made that people in any full-time work can sit on any council most are my age and long retired or not in full-time employment. Only saying."

Porky 1911 said: "I was under the impression the councils worked for us, how wrong can I be. They have had so much time to get this right but no, failed again like everything else they do."

Saxman3 said: "Ours still haven't been emptied and last week they weren't emptied until Friday I believe. God knows when these will be done. I have complained but as usual the council aren't interested. Just said my comments have been passed on. Just another pointless council idea spend a fortune to save nothing and increase the council tax by an eye watering amount next year."

Bus Face joined in with: "Ours haven’t been emptied yet. They were supposed to have been done on Friday, it’s now Wednesday."

While over at out Facebook page Mike Lewis said: "It'll be fines for flytipping next."

Pat Harrison commented: "Absolute disgrace behaving like a 3rd world country."

Martin Anthony said: "Is this down to the I’m entitled brigade? I pay my taxes, if it’s not collected I’ll just leave it on the street. Instead of taking it to the tip themselves if they have a car?
