What Werner and Vicario did after Tottenham's win and why Van de Ven goal was even more special

Tottenham climbed up into fourth spot in the Premier League and they had the performance of Micky van de Ven to thank as a key part of the victory against Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old Dutchman was in fine form in his defensive duties but he also popped up at the other end of the pitch with a rocket of a finish to put Spurs 2-1 up and pave the way for the eventual 3-1 victory for Ange Postecoglou's side. Not only was it Van de Ven's first goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but it was an even more special strike because it happened in front of his family.

The Van de Vens were at the game in the south west corner of the ground, meaning they got a perfect view of the goal as he made his mark in a man of the match performance.

After the final whistle the young Dutch centre-back was serenaded by the entire stadium singing his chant as he walked around the pitch. Two of his friends within the team, Timo Werner and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, both watched on, arm in arm, singing along and dancing to the chant while waiting for him to catch up with them.

In the latest episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, our two Spurs reporters Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discussed the win against Forest and Nuno Espirito Santo's return to the club as well as Van de Ven's performance, Werner's display, Postecoglou's key changes and plenty more.
