Westmorland and Lonsdale general election 2024 results in full

Voters in Westmorland and Lonsdale have gone to the ballot box for the general election 2024.

A new Member of Parliament is being elected for the expanded Cumbria constituency which includes the wards of Appleby and Brough; Bowness and Lyth; Coniston and Hawkshead; Eamont and Shap; Eden and Lyvennet Vale; Grange and Cartmel; Greystoke and Ullswater; Kendal Castle; Kendal Highgate; Kendal Nether; Kendal South; Kendal Strickland and Fell; Kirkby Stephen and Tebay; Levens and Crooklands; Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale; Upper Kent; Windermere and Ambleside

Ahead of the election, the MP was former Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron. He has represented the constituency since 2005.

The shock summer general election was called by Rishi Sunak on May 22, with elections taking place in all 650 seats across the UK. Since the 2019 general election major boundary changes affecting 90% of Parliamentary constituencies have come into force.

Ahead of the election, a Conservative government had been in power in Parliament since 2010.

Polls closed in the general election 2024 at 10pm on Thursday, July 4, with counts taking place overnight. Results from across the UK are expected in the early hours of Friday morning.
