Weston-super-Mare beach is officially one of UK's most disappointing

A popular beach in Somerset has been ranked as one of the most disappointing beaches in the UK. According to TripAdvisor reviews, Weston-super-Mare is the third most disappointing in the nation.

Many people will be looking ahead to trips to the seaside this summer and will want to know the spots to avoid. With the help of TripAdvisor reviews, Preply has uncovered the top 10 that haven’t quite hit the mark for some visitors.

The team created a list of the UK's top 20 most popular and famous beaches. They were then analysed by by the number of 1,2, and 3-star reviews, to reveal which ones might leave you feeling underwhelmed.

With nearly a quarter of TripAdvisor reviews expressing dissatisfaction, Weston-super-Mare Beach is the third most disappointing in the UK. It ranked behind North Shore Beach (29 per cent), in Llandudno, and Morecambe Beach (25 per cent), in Lancashire.

While the beach is undoubtedly picturesque, many visitors felt let down by the additional costs that added up from their visit. They were disappointed with pay-to-use-toilets, an entry fee to the pier, and steep parking rates.
