Wetherspoons rolling out change across UK pubs and it starts on May 1

Wetherspoon is shaking up its menu with new food items from next week. The fast food giant - which has boozers and drinking spots across Birmingham - is shaking up its menu with a number of new dishes from Wednesday next week (May 1).

To rival Wagamama, Wetherspoon has announced a new Ramen noodle bowl and Shawarma chicken wrap. The Ramen noodle bowl is vegan and features noodles, bean sprouts, shitake mushroom, spring onion, pak choi, bamboo shoots, red onion, sliced chillies, coriander, in a light broth.

The dish - which rivals Japanese eatery Wagamama - is priced at £6.99 with a soft drink, or £8.52 with an alcoholic drink. There is also an option to add a poached egg or grilled chicken breast to the Ramen noodle bowl for an extra cost, Wetherspoons has said.

The Shawarma chicken wrap contains spiced pulled chicken thigh, Middle Eastern spices, Naga chilli and garlic and herb sauces, tomato, onion, rocket and fresh mint. This is served in a 12-inch or 10-inch wrap, with it costing £5.70 on average with a soft drink, or £7.23 with an alcoholic beverage.

New 10-inch wraps available, priced at £4.11 with a soft drink or £5.64 with an alcoholic drink, have also been launched. Wetherspoons says these range from the vegetarian brunch wrap (fried egg, two vegan sausages, cheddar cheese) and southern fried chicken (salad leaves, smoky chipotle mayo) to fried halloumi-style cheese (salad leaves, sweet chilli sauce, tomato, cucumber).

New breakfast items include the fiesta brunch (£3.88 - poached egg, toast, guacamole, pico de gallo, grilled halloumi-style cheese, mushroom salsa), fresh fruit and yoghurt (£3.66 - apple, banana, blueberries, strawberries with Green-style yoghurt, and American-style pancakes (£4.99 - four pancakes, banana, strawberries, blueberries, maple-flavour syrup).

For vegans, there are vegan beans on toast, vegan sausage butty and vegan tomato and basil soup. New desserts include sticky toffee pudding (£4.99 - with the option to add ice cream or custard) and millionaire's dessert (£2.17 - ice cream, shortbread biscuit, chocolate sauce, toffee sauce).
